Hogla Macha Basket

The Hogla Macha Basket combines organic shapes with a simple design. Use these baskets to store herbs, wooden kitchen spoons and kitchen towels or use them as planters. The basket is available comes in two different sizes and in the characteristic colour of Hogla seagrass.

The entire production process of Hogla is completely executed by hand and without the use of electricity or other fuels. Villagers cut the Hogla with simple tools and dry it in the sun. The dried leaves are braided or twisted into rope, mostly by women working from home. Afterward, the ropes are collected and brought to the workshop where they are braided into baskets.
