These fluted vases by East London ceramicist Janne Cornish are quietly showstopping – beautifully hand-thrown in textured stoneware and finished in her signature chalky white glaze. The deep carved ridges give each piece a tactile, architectural feel, while the subtle variations in tone and texture reveal the hand of the maker. You can see or feel the human touch in the piece, slight irregularities, variations, textures, tool marks, or surface details that show it was made with love by Janne.

Whether used for fresh blooms, dried stems, or as a standalone sculptural piece, this is a vase with presence. The creamy white glaze pools into the grooves, creating shadows and highlights that change with the light – a soft, calming centrepiece for any room.

Timeless Form, Modern Craftsmanship

Like all of her work, Janne’s fluted vases are inspired by her childhood in Karatsu, Japan – a region known for its meditative approach to pottery. That influence comes through in the stillness of these pieces: clean shapes, subtle surface markings, and a considered use of glaze.
